Why would they be? The technology to deal with this threat has been tested in Ukraine and will soon be in serial production in 3 NATO countries.
Meanwhile Russia doesn’t have the aircraft it needs to seriously threaten even the closest NATO countries.

You completely underestimate NATOs ability to dominate the air. Russia is struggling to defend itself against a few dozen outdated aircraft, NATO countries in Europe have around 3,312 fighters/interceptors, according to Statista. Russia has max 800 mostly less capable fighter/interceptors.

The best way to stop strikes on Ukraine is to destroy Russias ability to produce long range weapons. NATO can’t do that directly without making the situation worse, instead Ukraine is provided with finance, technology and weapons at an increasing rate to destroy Russian production.

I’m also not sure that you can say “the west” hasn’t industrialised its defence as for example Europe alone is producing more artillery shells than Russia.
Also Tanks, IFVs, SAMs, Artillery systems etc are all being or soon will be built much faster than Russia can even hope to.

Try being an immigrant then tell me that Europe has “uncontrolled immigration”.
Recently entering Europe from Turkey we were stopped and checked 3 times after we had already been thoroughly checked at the border, I doubt Europe has controlled immigration more at any time in history outside of war.

That’s one of the reasons why Russia doesn’t want a real war with NATO, they need access to the Black Sea and Baltic for their economy to function.

They export about 7.4 million barrels per day so almost a third but they did have excess capacity available at other ports. They also have a lot of excess oil floating around in the shadow fleet so it might take a while but the writing is on the wall.

The exact repercussions are not clear but the reality is that I can imagine Putin would try and avoid any route that involves the Black Sea, Ukraine would have every Sea Baby Drone equipped with SAMs ready and waiting. Add the possibility manpads along the route and we can shorten the war.
