Quackers comic 11-12-25 Panel 1: Jason the duck is stood in the back garden at night, wearing a hoodie to fight off the evening chill. He looks up at the sky happily. Tom the moose sticks his head out of the back door and asks Jason “What are you doing out here in the dark?” “The news said we’d be able to see the Aurora Borealis where we are tonight!” Says Jason, enthusiastically. Panel 2: Tom strips out of the doorway and squints up at the darkened sky. Panel 3: We see Tom and Jason from behind, silhouetted against the sky. Clouds cover the whole scene and a bright glow emanates from ground level being the garden fence. “Sorry, Champ,” says Tom. “But between the UK’s never-ending cloud cover and all the light pollution I don’t think you’re going to see much.” Panel 4: Looking down on the scenes we see Jason Jan a finger into the air as Tom looks on curiously. “No, look!” cries Jason. “I can see a star right there! Praise the Great Llama, the clouds must be clearing!” Panel 5: Jason gets a puzzled expression. “Why do you suppose it’s blinking green and red?” he ponders. Panel 6: Tom gives Jason a withering glare. “Because that’s a passenger jet’s lights, ya dingus!” he says. Jason looks disappointed and mutters a lowly “Awww.”

A Sketchy Excuse
Quackers comic 11-05-25 Panel 1: Tom the moose walls into the living room where Jason the duck is stood. Both characters and the room are uncharacteristically drawn with rough pencil lines and shared in black and white. “Jason, are you ok?” asks Tom. “You’re looking paler and more… scribbly than usual.” “Have you taken a look at yourself lately, Mr Sketchy-chops?” replies Jason, testily. Panel 2: Tom looks down at himself and cries out in surprise. “What happened to my luscious fur and impeccable physique?!” “Old age?” suggests Jason, bluntly. “No! I mean why are we all unfinished?” Panel 3: “Our artist said something about burn-out from our last storyline and blah, blah… I honestly stopped paying attention.” Jason offhandedly remarks. “Claims he needed a break.” “Oh, I’ll give him a break alright!” Says Tom, menacingly and clasping his fist. Panel 4: Tom looks scornful and mutters “Whatever we’re posting that bozo, it’s too much!” “Oh, we don’t pay him anything,” Jason comments. “That explains so much around here,” says Tom, folding his arms.

🎃The Quackers Halloween Special Finale🦇
Quackers Halloween Special Part 5-1 Panel 1: We see Tom and Jason are still in the elegant castle ballroom, Jason with a garlic bulb in his hand looking back at his friend, Tom. "Snap out of it! Don't fall for his hypnosis, Tom!" shouts Jason. He snaps his fingers and tries to pull Tom out of the trance the vampire had put him under. Tom shakes his head from side to side as Jason continues. "We have to work together to defeat him!" Panel 2: "Here, grab the holy water from my Vampire Hunter's kit!" says Jason, passing his kit back towards Tom while keeping watch on the vampire. "You brought gear to fight vampires?" questions Tom, taking the box from Jason. Panel 3: "One should never be without a good monster hunting kit on Halloween," Jason advises, finger raised to make a point. Panel 4: Jason and Tom stand together ready to fight. JAson brandishes a glass bottle of holy water while Tom holds up a spray bottle with a sticky label on the side that reads 'Holy H2O' "Now let him have it!" shouts Jason. Panel 5: Tom stands before the vampire and pulls the trigger on the spray bottle. "Bad vampire! Stop it!" chastises Tom. The vampire cries out and hisses angrily as he tries to shield himself from the water being sprayed at his face. Panel 6: Jason jumps for joy. "Woohoo! You got him, Tom!" he cries. Tom looks at the soaking wet vampire with a menacing stare while the vampire looks down at his sodden clothing. "You fools! Vhat haff you done?!" Exclames the vampire. "Just look at my clothes!" Panel 7: "Wait, doesn't it burn?" asks Jason, genuinely curious. Angrily the vampire snaps back, waving a fist in the air. "I burn only vith rage, you imbecile! You haff wrecked my hair and my brand new suit!" Quackers Halloween Special - Part 5-2 Panel 1: With a 'POWF' the vampire tranforms into an actual bat in a cloud of smoke. He turns to regard our two heroes with disdain. "Curse you!" he yells. "I'll be back to deal with you two another time! I hope my stylist is still awake..." Panel 2: Triumphantly Jason jabs a finger in the air and proclaims victory. "Once more we beat back the Forces of Darkness and survive yet another harrowing Halloween night!" Tom look on dumbfounded. Panel 3: With a look of mild confusion Tom asks, "Do you think we'll ever have a Halloween where some great evil isn't out to get us?" "Sure," Jason replies casually. "Once our artist runs out of clichéd plots to rip off." Panel 4: "So what now?" asks Tom. "Now we celebrate with pizza!" replies Jason, grabbing his bag and heading to the castle entrance. Thoughtfully Tom adds, "I think I'll order extra garlic bread, just in case..." The End! (For now)

Part Four of the Quackers Halloween Special. Just one more episode left!
Quackers Happen Special Part 4 Panel 1: The vampire bat snarls and raises a fist in anger. "Enough chatter!" he shouts. Panel 2: The background becomes a swirled indigo and violet pattern as the bat's eyes glow. His voice takes on an otherworldly commanding tone as he gestures towards Tom. "Come to me my tasty hors d'oeuvre. Let me feast on your succulent neck!" Tom's expression goes slack as he falls under the vampire's influence and he pulls down his coat collar to reveal his neck. "Yes, Master..." he utters in a trance-like voice. "Tom, no!" cries Jason, reaching after his friend. Panel 3: In a panic Jason rummages around in his backpack, which is now on the floor. "Good thing I brought along my trusty vampire hunting kit!" He says. Panel 4: Standing between Tom - who stands glassy-eyed - and the vampire bat, Jason holds an open metal box with 'Vampire Kit' written in fancy text on its edge. Inside we can see a wooden stake, a glass bottle, and several bulbs of garlic. Brandishing one of the garlic bulbs aloft, Jason shouts "Back, foul fiend!" Panel 5: Amused by Jason's bold actions the vampire bat sneers back. "Ha-ha! You tink dat mere garlic can protect you from a great and powerful vampire such as m-" Panel 6: The vampire is cut off as he's pelted with garlic bulbs, one bouncing off his head. "Ow! Hey, stop dat!" he cries as he tries to protect his face.

Quackers comic Halloween Special 2019 - Part 5 Panel 1: Outside the castle a rosy glow is rising from the horizon as we hear Tom's voice. "You know, not to be rude, but this place could do with a little sprucing up." Panel 2: The bat - still menacing Jason - turns to look at Tom confused. "I'm not sure vhat--" "You could make a fortune on an old place like this with just a little modernising!" interrupts Tom obliviously. "Some fancy rugs, nice new furniture, fresh flowers..." Panel 3: "Think more contemporary, less Gothic!" Tom continues with a smile. Panel 4: "Here, I'll make a list..." Tom says as he scribbles down notes. "Vell, actually I rather--" begins the bat, but Jason interjects. "Don't fight it, he's in his own little world now." Panel 5: Tom begins to reel off ideas and Jason rolls his eyes. The bat looks on confused. "A few photos instead of drab portraits and a fresh lick of paint will do wonders for this place's asking price!" Panel 6: "Why don't we start by opening these thick, musty curtains..." says Tom, reaching for the curtain. The bat immediately looks alarmed. Panel 7: "Nooo! Vait!" cries the bat, too late to stop Tom pulling open the curtains. Panel 8: Morning light pours in through the now uncovered window, the bat recoils and hisses loudly. Smoke pours off him as he shields himself from the bright daylight. Panel 9: Tom and Jason also shield themselves, lit by huge flames from where the bat was stood. An anguished scream is all we hear before it's over. Panel 10: "By the Great Llama, did'ya see that!" yells Tom pointing to the smouldering remnants on the floor (luckily hidden by the bottom of the frame). "That was incredible, Tom!" exclaims Jason. "Didn't I tell you he--" Panel 11: Tom cuts Jason off. "That could have set the whole place ablaze!" he shouts angrily as Jason visibly deflates behind him. Panel 12: Tom grabs his notebook again. "I'm gonna add fire extinguishers and smoke alarms to the list of must-haves..."

Quackers comic Halloween Special 2019 - Part 4 Panel 1: In the castle we see Tom and Jason walking a few paces behind the bat. Cobwebs can be seen in the rafters, creepy statues line the hall and an incongruous red phone hangs on the wall above a small table. "You don't find any of this strange?" asks Jason. "We've been invited into a mysterious mansion we know wasn't here yesterday by a weird guy with huge fangs and an obviously fake accent." "Oh you're just being paranoid!" replies Tom. Panel 2: Jason continues. "And what's with these candles and the weird robes, hmm?!" The bat's ear twitches and turns toward Jason, clearly able to hear the duck's comments. Panel 3: "I find the candles provide a relaxing ambience," says the bat to Jason. Gesturing to his robes he comments "And these, my inqvisitive little morsel, are merely my pyjamas. Perhaps I should speak vith my tailor?" Panel 4: The bat turns to address his guests. "My friends, I feel you have many qvestions, as do I. Vhat is it that brings you here?" "A poor script and a lousy agent!" Jason says sarcastically. "Jason, hush!" chides Tom. Panel 5: "I'm Tom, this is Jason. We wanted to be neighborly and introduce ourselves," Tom says, gesturing to himself. The bat looks delighted. "Ah! How delectable!" he cries. Panel 6: "Oh! And we brought this welcome-basket of food!" adds Tom, proffering the wicker hamper. "My, my," says the bat with a smile and a narrowing of his eyes. "It is rare for me to have food arriving right at my door!" Jason looks panicked. Panel 7: "However the night is still young and I do not yet hunger..." The bat says, turning to dismisses the offer. Panel 8: "But should you linger," continues the bat, "You are most velcome to remain as dinner..." "Umm... D-don't you mean 'remain for dinner?'" stammers Jason, worried and getting scared. Panel 9: The bat leans over Jason predator-like his eyes glowing. "Tom-ay-to, tom-ah-to, my hot-blooded little aperitif!" Jason looks petrified.

Quackers comic Halloween Special 2019 - Part 3 Panel 1: Seen from above we watch as Tom uses the giant door-knocker on the door of the castle. Mist swirls in from the edges of the large pillars framing the doorway. Jason hangs back nervously. "Jason, stop being silly!" Tom chastises. "We're just here to get to know the neighbours." Panel 2: Jason looks about worriedly as he approaches Tom. "If they're as spooky as the rest of this place, then I don't want to know them!" he says. Panel 3: The large wooden door of the castle starts to open with a loud and ominous creak. Light spills out from the doorway and Tom and Jason step back a little in surprise. Panel 4: There's a sudden flash of lightning behind the castle silhouetting it's towers against the dark sky and a loud crack of thunder rings in the air. Panel 5: Tom and Jason both gasp in surprise at what they see offscreen. Panel 6: A dark, shadowy figure stands in the doorway, backlit by the light from inside. Two huge pointed ears appear to stick up above the figure's head and it's eyes glow a menacing yellow-orange. Panel 7: Stepping forward and holding up a lantern, the figure is revealed to be a friendly looking bat. He wears a dark cloak over some blood red robes, but bares a welcoming expression, offset only by some visibly sharp looking fangs. "Ah, vhat have ve here?" he asks in a heavily accented voice. "Guests! How deliciously fortuitous!" Panel 8: "Velcome to my humble home." the bat continues, a slight sneer twisting his features. "Are you perhaps lost?" he asks, gesturing for Tom and Jason to enter the castle. Panel 9: "Nope!" yells Jason as he turns and begins to storm off. "Nuh-uh! That's it! I am out of this cliché riddled plot!" "Get back here, fruitloop." says Tom as he goes to grab the hood of Jason's hoodie, the bat looking on in bemusement.

Quackers comic Halloween Special 2019 - Part 2 Panel 1: Tom and Jason make their way up the long and winding stairs toward the foreboding castle. The crumbling tower peaks pierce the comic panel and bats can be seen flying around nearby. "Tom, do we really have to do this?" asks Jason. "Oh, c'mon, we're only going to say hi to the neighbours..." replies Tom. Panel 2: "Tom continues, "And I'm not paying for this welcome basket just to head home and have you eat it all to yourself!" Jason looks at Tom and the wicker hamper he's carrying. "I'm more worried about what's going to be eating me if we go in there!" Panel 3: Jason grabs Tom's shoulder and tries to stop him continuing up the stairs. "Tom, please, I'm filled with a terrible sense of dread and foreboding!" Panel 4: "You've been reading through our old strips again, haven't you?" Tom asks with disapproval. "Well someone has to! Otherwise the webpages get all dusty!" Jason snaps back.

Quackers Comic Halloween Special 2019 - Part 1 Panel 1: Tom the moose and Jason the duck are walking at night down a well-lit street. Tom is in his green coat, Jason in his blue hoodie. "See, isn't this nice?" asks Tom. "I told you going for a late-night walk would be fun!" Jason looks miserable as he replies. "Yeah, nothing says fun like a walk in the dark in the middle of a cold October night!" Panel 2: Something catches the pair's eyes offscreen and Tom points. "Odd, I don't remember coming across this house before..." Panel 3: In a large wide-shot we see a typical waist high red brick wall and garden gate give way to a winding stone stairway. The stairs lead to a huge gothic looking castle lit by moonlight, it's ornate towers stabbing into the sky. Creepy statues stand on plinths outside the huge entrance along with burning braziers. More statues, old and broken sit by the stairway. "Hmmm..." ponders Tom. "Gothic overtones, macabre statuary, with just a hint of Romanian livery..." Panel 4: "Ugh! So cliché!" Jason complains, his arms folded and a look of disapproval on his face. Panel 5: Tom points to the castle. "Look, the lights are on... Let's be neighbourly and go introduce ourselves!" Jason looks horrified at the suggestion. Panel 6: "Oh sure!" Jason says sarcastically. "There's no way walking into this spooky looking house during Halloween could possibly end badly!" "That's the spirit!" says Tom, enthusiastically. "Please don't use the word 'spirit'..." Jason pleads.

Quackers Halloween Special - Part Three
Quackers comic - Revived Rivalries part 1 Panel 1: Tom the moose and Jason the duck are stood in the ballroom of the creepy castle they entered into last episode. A dark, bat-like figure silently flies past them in the background. Jason, sensing something, turns nervously. "What was that?!" he exclaims. Panel 2: A fearsome bat face appears in close up, its mouth open wide exposing long dagger like teeth. The bat's eyes are glowing red and it hisses menacingly. Panel 3: Jason leaps backwards in surprise, crying out in terror. The anthropomorphic bat - dressed in a stylish grey suit and waistcoat - strikes a predatory pose and speaks with a commanding voice. "Come to me my succulent morsels and prepare to feed me!" Tom, looking perplexed, mutters "I didn't know we were expected to bring snacks to this party..." Continued in part two. Quackers comic - Revived Rivalries part 2. Panel 1: Jason the duck has a sudden realisation. "Wait a minute, it's..." Panel 2: "You!" both Jason and the bat shout in unison, pointing to one another in recognition. Panel 3: Angrily Jason shakes his fist toward the bat. "You're that vampire we defeated several years ago!" He shouts. "Vampire?" Tom asks, confused. The vampire menacingly fires back at Jason in his broken accent, "And you're de meddlesome pests who beset me vith sunlight and banished me from my own home! I had hoped to never again lay eyes upon either of you." [NB refer back to the Halloween Special of 2019 at www.quackerscomic.com for past dealings] Panel 4: "Really?" Jason asks. "You moved all of a half-dozen streets away. Meeting again was kinda inevitable." "Haff you seen de state of da housing market lately?" The bat replies wearily. "Who can afford to move far?" "Fair point." concedes Jason.

Quackers Comic Halloween Special 2 Panel 1: Tom and Jason walk up the stairway to the entrance of Bleakwood Castle. “Right, let’s head on in!” said Tom with a smile. “Oh sure,” Jason replies, “Let’s walk straight into the dark imposing castle… What could possibly go wrong?” Panel 2: Strolling nonchalantly toward the big wooden door of the entrance Tom responds to Jason. “Let’s see, you could plummet to your doom through rotting floorboards, or perhaps fall prey to maniac’s fiendish booby-trap. Or maybe an evil extra-dimensional Eldritch abomination could appear and devour your soul…” “I didn’t need a list!” cries Jason, pulling the hood of his hoodie over his eyes. Panel 3: Tom holds the door open for Jason as they enter into the castle. Jason looks thoroughly miserable and is hugging himself. Tom calls out, “Hello? Anyone around? We’re here for the party!” Panel 4: Suddenly a heavily accented voice booms out around the spacious chandelier-lit room. It echoes and seems to come from everywhere at once. “Vell, vell… Two tasty looking snacks have villingly wandered into my abode?” Tom looks surprised at the voice, while Jason starts to panic. The voice continues. “My, dis vill be a most enjoyable evening indeed!” Panel 5: Tom looks amazed and looks about the darkened, shadow filled room. “Woah! Such a cool effect! How do you think they made their voice appear from everywhere like that?” Jason furrows his brown in thought. “Wait a minute…” he says. Panel 6: Jason turns to Tom and says “I think I recognise that weird accent.” Excited, Tom comments, “Ooh, maybe we have a famous guest star?” “With our comic’s lousy budget?” says Jason. “Not likely!”
