There are a few other good duck-rabbit cartoons.

I really like the old/young woman doing the duck/rabbit as shadow art.

Boo, hiss. Respectfully.

I am a very olfactory person—the wrong scent for something always throws me off, but the right smells can transport me through space and time.

My (forgotten) recipe had just enough goo to hold an absolute ton of pecan pieces together, and to leave a top that could be decorated with pecan halves.

I was never even really a fan of pecan pies, but that one was just… perfection.

I made hundreds of pecan pies at a restaurant that fit this description. They were wonderful, and I knew that with so much repetition, I would never forget the recipe.

I did not factor the effects of grad school into my scenario. I have forgotten it, and restaurant went belly-up in the late 80s.

It wasn’t when I replied, I swear!

(Thanks for the source, though)

Two separate thoughts: I don’t remember the source, but (x) said “those who say the earth is flat are wrong. Those who say the earth is a perfect sphere are wrong. Those who say that because both of these are wrong, they are equally wrong, are more wrong than both of them combined.”

Although I defer to your expertise, I only recently found out about and tried a bacon butty, which kicked its way into an old sandwich-eater’s top ten easily.

Gonna have to try the “carbs between carbs” oeuvre now, though.

Feel free! That is not a talent I pretend to possess!

My own subfield has well-defined concepts that are misunderstood in the broader field; could “general consensus” and “consensus of experts” be meaningfully different here? Or am I simply misusing “consensus” in this case?

In the spirit of Operation Charlotte’s Web, I gotta say, that’s some pig!

Dunno if this counts, but I remember (northern Ohio, late 70s early 80s) jars of commercially produced condiments, sweet relish with mustard (“hot dog relish”) and sweet relish with catsup (“hamburg relish”).
I did think the usage was weird, even at the time.

Oh, indeed, I got your point, I was just commenting on my own ignorance of Arabic!

I mean… it is infinitely easier than the examples in your previous post (for me)!
