(The crime-prevention robot is a minor plot detail in his Culture series, where sentient all-powerful AI exist as part of a post-scarcity post-human communist collective—which has essentially zero crime to begin with. Musk has gotten a bunch of these books' messages pants-on-head wrong.)

We learn something new about classical antiquity every week. How many new logical operators has Andreesen learned since college? George Boole's "Mathematical Analysis of Logic" came out in 1847, have we learned anything new about NAND or XOR lately?

Insofar as everything since has been the logical elaboration of principles demonstrated in the Leibniz/Babbage/Lovelace era, this statement is demonstrably more true of computer science than it is of Classics.

Business rent is way too high on Mag (not Miracle) Mile so companies are just shuffling around. H&M moved two blocks down the road to save cash.

He's blaming "murder and crime" in one of the safest parts of the city because the real problem is "landlords." Almost like that's the whole gambit.

Why yes, I am maddest of all about the puppy. Service animal training programs are INCREDIBLY effective behavioral incentives in prisons because incarcerated people, being humans, tend to love dogs.

I had this boss once, at a convenience store I worked at one summer. He was fired for, y'know, BEING this guy a few days after I started working, and for the rest of the summer everyone told stories about him and laughed.

It radicalized ME and I was a college kid who didn't need the money to eat.
