you can also buy a piece of Sina balgen used on Ebay, it does not cost the world. on one side comes the negative holder with lamp, on the other edge the lense. this you can maybe put on a metal rail then. then you can vary the enlargement factor. www.ebay.de/itm/32690038...

or you just take really thick cardboard, 1cm, i still have this in France, the middle wall of the projecting box can be variable, that is place of the negative holder. with f= 180mm you make the box maybe 50 cm long and 20x20cm wide. you paint it black inside..PAINT IT BLACK.
no need for a heavyy steel frame or sth, it is all nonsense. you build the objective, negative holder and strong lamp into a wooden box, then you project the image HORIZONTALLY through the room onto the photo paper hanging vertically on a mic stand or two.. can be 2m distance..you get huge photos..
i ordered now for 35eu a componon 180mm enlarger lense. you can make LARGE photos with this one. negative between 1f and 2f distance roughly from lense, ie 25cm. then you can do from a 9x12cm laehe firmst negative photos with side length a meter or more..

i decided now to build an enlarger for large format BW photography on my own..why did i study physics i mean..it is such an obvious application. you just need a 135mm lense..some wood, cardboard & metal. a lamp.
