Shocking thing I noticed after moving to the U.S.: how little the American left talks about working-class objective material conditions, and its obsession with subjective identity. This pises no threat to economic elites, especially elite universities.

Based on recent incidents like this one, I can't in good conscience, recommend that any (non-U.S.) prospective PhD student or Postdoc seek a position in the U.S. at this time.
