Sinners
This was such an awesome film Obviously that imagine sequence was beautiful, my favourite part of the movie but overall it is an incredibly layered look at Blues culture and an awesome commentary on intereectionality and cultural apropiation with the villain being Irish, a culture that was oppressed in the past by the English and still looked down on by americans so there's defo overlap but bro is the villain for a reason apropiating black culture for his own ends, willing to get into black safe spaces and also he eats people. This movie apparently really hates Christianity and i can see it with the way the opening scene gets recontextualised by the end of the movie. The absolute soul of jazz and blues and the history and the culture is treated so superbly here like you can feel it, Micheal B Jordon kills it as twin cousins and the main character is played amazingly well. I cannot to see him in more kino Yeah this is a much watch.

DESI LESBIAN W!!!! This is saving face but for south asains basically so the main character's sister marries a white man named Mitch (i kept asking why it had to be a WHITE guy named MITCH no less throughout the whole film) but she finds out she's infertile so our lesbian main character does the most sensible thing and that's become the fucking surrogate this movie is really fucking funny but it's alos sweet and contemplative a sweet and sour look at the queer and indian intersectionality i really admire it, i may like it more than saving face even thouhg that movie continues stronger in it's second half with an equally compelling relationship plot with the mother but chutney popcorn has such a neat understanding of both the family dynamic and lesbian dybamics ans we see how the preganancy affect her sister and her marriage, her relationship[ with her mother, her relationship with ehr girlfriend and also her other lesbian homies also this was sweet aaawwwww [an acknowledgment at the end of the movie with a white text over a black screen that says "for our moms"]

this show is fucking wack (pos) a really funny satire on sensationalist journalism very surreal with a bunch of genuinley stupid gags that do loop around to being funny the parts that get me is when they get specialists to talk about the topic of the week and they're spouiting whatever nonsense chris morris wrote for them with a straight facve like the dangers of a made up drug named cake it's also p crass at times... more than some of the time... a lot but i promise this is still good

Carnival Row Season 1
This show was something I'm gonna start by talking about Problems i have There's moments where the writer just felt... Off to me Idk how to explain it Two female villains in this season... I did not like how they were portrayed and it might be liberal... I say this but it does seem to be trying a whole lot to actually try to be progressive in a way that i admire. With that said this show is kinda awesome despite all that? When i started to get into it i got into it. The fact this is a fantasy TV show that isn't based on any pre existing IP actually does a lot more on its favour than you realise, reminds me a lot of dishonored down to the Victorian London inspired city. Around episode two when the darkaaher showed up and we're investigating these murders which it uses to develop its main character i think the show steadily gripped me. I am still iffy that the MC was unknowingly the crux of the murders but it actually made it work wuite well? The set designs are beautiful and i bet are expensive, same with the creature designs and despite the fact it has liberal potential it actually kind of has interesting persoectives to share on it's theme of magical creature prejudice. I low-key wish the show had moments of actual levity? I appreciate it's commitment to taking itself seriously especially in this day and agree of irony poisoning but i think it would go a long way of it had only 2% more self awareness The show also ends on such a dark ominous note that gets me excited for season 2 Like i think it might genuinley be better so I'm anticipating it

same dev team as rollerdrome (rip rol7) and wow this was a fun if a little uneven experiance was a little addicted to the gameplay loop even though it can be infurating sometimes i wasn't good at getting hiugh scores but a 2D skatebaording game? i really apreciate that it made it this well even though it still has a ways to go to be great
