Weird timing with all the Canadian nationalism now, but I've just watched Kanehsatake: 270 Years of Resistance which is one of the greatest documentaries. The Oka crisis, one of the darkest times for Canada during my lifetime (The army, SQ and politicians all absolutely sucked at handling it)

I generally don't like film remakes, but this one was actually on par with the original. So many great performances and just as memorable.

Working on a 98 list and revisiting a lot of albums, noticed this album is falling into obscurity compared to other west coast favorites of that year (Hieroglyphics, Styles of Beyond, Aceyalone, etc...). Really just as good with solid boom bap beats and rhymes.

New Trees Speak TimeFold out today, a lot more Prog Electronic than their previous albums (at least from the ones I heard).

I'm hitting up the Charley Crockett back catalog (10$ Cowboy is one of the better albums from this year), and this is another good one. This man is really special.
