These two publications from the last month—both wonderful collaborations with excellent editors & co-authors—remind me that in an academic landscape dominated by metrics and quick outputs, the ideas that endure over time are often the most rewarding. Essays are open-access & linked in comments.

I was humbled and honoured to be recognised as "Highly Commended" for "Global Impact" at the @universityofleeds.bsky.social Faculty of AHC Partnership Awards. Grateful to my colleagues who support and encourage my work, since impact is always collective.

Academia is difficult: so I receive such news with great humility. It is never a sprint, always a marathon: and I have been fortunate to be blessed with great mentors, brilliant students, and a supportive family.
