Read the AAUP’s Committee A on Academic Freedom and Tenure newly published report, "On Title VI, Discrimination & Academic Freedom."

The report addresses the issue of discrimination and the investigations opened by the Trump administration under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

There are pumpkin trolls everywhere. There is no DEI prohibition in higher ed teaching in Texas. Nevertheless this troll sees it fit to attack an instructor and try to get TAMU administrators fired. x.com/brianeharris...

Very happy that the Board of Regents at my university approved changes proposed by our Faculty Senate working with our Chancellor to comply with the potentially devastating Texas Senate Bill 37. This means we keep our Senate when many institutions in Texas are having their Senates dissolved on 9/1.

So proud of @texasdemocrats.bsky.social for denying quorum in the Trumped up (pun intended) bogus special redistricting session of the Texas legislature. Please remember to come back from Illinois when this is over. We need you.

This news story link just came to my phone: share.newsbreak.com/e56eya28. I am at a complete loss to understand why any politician thinks they can place conditions on this business decision. Clearly pressure from the populace was important here. Do we really have to reverse every sane decision?

People can want the same end result but have different ways to get there. Sadly, i do not think we will ever know the answer. Frustrated kids will likely keep killing other kids and they don't need guns to do that.
