Very happy that the Board of Regents at my university approved changes proposed by our Faculty Senate working with our Chancellor to comply with the potentially devastating Texas Senate Bill 37. This means we keep our Senate when many institutions in Texas are having their Senates dissolved on 9/1.

Congratulations to my grad student who successfully defended her MS on the way to her PhD today. I am encouraged that URM women are succeeding despite all the anti-education actions in the world right now.

I am not in any way trying to compete with those who post amazing animal pictures and videos, but I am trying to boost my mood by capturing animal shots when I can. I saw this guy during a recent visit to Atlanta.

People can want the same end result but have different ways to get there. Sadly, i do not think we will ever know the answer. Frustrated kids will likely keep killing other kids and they don't need guns to do that.

In today's increasingly authoritarian and dictatorial climate, we need to grab moments of peace and joy where we can. Had a lovely walk to work this morning in nature with beautiful sky and a great breeze blowing.
