Breaking news: new puppy! 6 mo old husky/shepherd mix, the sweetest and most playful boy ever. We were dogless for 6 months after many decades of dogs, and that sucked. He has just slid right into our lives already as though he’s always been ours. #DogsOfBlueSky 🐕

One year ago today, my dad died unexpectedly. He was the best and I really miss him, all the time. That’s it, that’s the whole skeet. Here’s a picture of my dad.

When the Strib did this a while ago, I found an article about my grandpa punching a cop during a traffic stop in the 50’s. Here he’s being fined for illegal liquor purchases in 1951. He died before I was born, so these tidbits are fascinating. Dad always said he was a shady guy & small time criminal

Said goodbye to the best, funniest, sweetest, most handsome boy this week. We are heartbroken & are dogless for the first time in 20+ years. 14 years was not long enough w/ Moj, but we know he lived his best life to the end, swimming, running, chasing balls, being loved. #RescueDogs #DogsOfBlueSky 🐕

We used to go to Petco every Saturday just for the puppies. Nothing lifts your mood like a bunch of squirmy fuzzy puppies. 20 years ago we took this one home; Maggie was the best girl for almost 19 years.

Partially bundled….fully bundled. -14 air temp + a stiff breeze + lots of layers = no problem. Almost too toasty. Only problem is the frozen eyelashes.

2024 was a rough year overall. Lots of loss & stress, as well as (gestures at the world)…you know. But there was also joy, travel, floofy dogs & tons of great books. Here are some of my favorites, separated into the more serious/weighty books and the ones that were just darn good page turners.

This is exactly like our dog (malamute/husky/lab mix). You can brush a massive pile of hair off of him and then still have it cover your hand when you pet him two seconds later.
