An awful call ends a great at-bat. Pitch 15 wasn’t even close to a strike.

The month(s) long horror binge has ended so it’s time to return to Noir Alley. Tonight it was The Big Combo.

The Cinematography is classic noir but Richard Conte steals the show as a very modern villain. It’s too bad Jack Palance left this picture as the two would have been dynamite together.

Tonight’s Watch:

Deception (1946) Gorgeous Film Noir with amazing cinematography, and a haunting score. Bette Davis may be the star but Claude Rains STEALS this film.

Just finished watching Desperate on TCM. The plot was filled with coincidences and happenstance but it’s one of the best looking film noirs I’ve seen. I highly recommend, if only for the cinematography.
