Life is not ours, we are property of life. I’m killing time until time decides I’ve had enough. SELU. SoMiss. LSU. Saints. Pens. Astros. Aston Villa. Louisiana expat. Amateur cook. Historian. \m/
Been in Louisiana since late last Sunday and I’m already looking at houses I’ve seen for sale. Being out in the country around family knowing there’s jobs here for me and it’s going to be really hard to have to go back two days from today.

God hates Iowa
UPDATE: Amounts have INCREASED for virtually everyone on the map since yesterday. This is the National Weather Service’s forecast.

Snow begins this evening in Iowa and reaches Chicago by daybreak. Be where you need to be by sunset tonight, because you do NOT want to travel Saturday.

Lots of people sharing this clip because it's funny and cathartic but I also genuinely believe it's important.

We have to win the narrative battle between "I live in a corrupt society and that's just how it is" and "I live in a corrupt society and we are going to defeat and humiliate these ghouls."
Good morning to Brazilian reporter Manuela Borges, who’s been waiting eleven years for this petty moment. ❤️ 🇧🇷

The Trump administration’s war on tourism in red states continues
National parks have SO MANY people from other countries (since they get real vacations!)

And they spend a lot of money on hotels, food, souvenirs, etc.

This is unbelievably dumb, it will destroy entire tourist towns

Got my missing pay today after having to detail why it was missed and finding out if I wouldn’t have brought it up it wouldn’t have been processed and completely missed. 900 people in my Office had it happen to them. Government is hanging on by a thread from not functioning.

The word 'Orwellian' is overused, but calling countries with active human rights protections 'human rights violators' is pure doublespeak.
Countries that have abortion access, DEI policies or protection for LGBTQ+ people will be considered “human rights violators“ by the Trump regime

We’re in the upside down.

Ever since I was a baby my dad’s mom - my granny - brought rolls and pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. We all thought it was homemade including my Dad. Not until she died did we find out it was all store bought. All of it. The rolls. The filling. The pie crusts. My uncle who lived with her spilled it.
