I was honestly surprised to see so much changed so quickly. Last I had heard, there was significant community opposition against the seawall, as in this 2019 article. Flooding in New York, Boston, Miami, and other cities is going to cause more changes and adaptation. ny.curbed.com/2019/10/17/2...

Not to ignore, of course, trying to avoid making the problem worse in coming centuries by continuing to burn fossil fuels. But 2 C and its attendant problems are here, now, and already “baked in”.

When I first got back to Boston about ten years ago, one of my students studying adaptation would run down to the Seaport every time there was a nor’easter, and take pictures of flooded streets and intersections then.
