FT piece on return of retro foods is really good, but the photography is particularly brilliant. I didn't clock at first that these were new pictures, so perfectly have they been cooked, styled and edited: on.ft.com/47IHdB1 (there are lots more great pics, but I think this is a fair use compromise)

I've no idea who this person is but my main reflection on this news story is that I'm not sure I can trust someone who's named after two bottles of booze.

Exceptional reply work here on Reddit:

“I wonder if the York Dukedom will now be retired?”

“They can’t do that, it would put ten thousand men out of a job.”

It’s all being done by a company called Podroll, as far as I can tell. Small company, committed to “discovery” for small podcasts. Great, but this is a really bad way to do it. Serving me (in the region of) 50 random and boring episodes is a good way to make me unsubscribe entirely.

If you're wondering why so many of your apps and services aren't working properly this morning, it's because the AWS region US-EAST-1 is having... some problems, and that's where quite a lot of apps and services host what they need to function (👋 hi Duolingo, NYT Games etc)

Just lost the Keith Vaz game *because Keith Vaz is advertising to me on Instagram* - it turns out Big Tech was in the pocket of Big Vaz all along.

I think this piece, which is quite good, has been badly served by its headline (I think the writer clearly knows what he's doing but at a guess, the sub who wrote the headline doesn't know any of the three musicians well).

This piece of writing always reminds me of the greatest ad ever placed in the LRB's personals column (2003):

"We advise you not to play these tracks if the Criminal Justice Bill becomes law. Flutter has been programmed in such a way that no bars contain identical beats and can therefore be played at both forty five and thirty three revolutions under the proposed new law."

One problem - having worked on this with GP practices - is that moving to digital triage is a recipe for disaster *unless* everyone in the practice is prepared to move to the "total triage" model. TT works extremely well and massively reduces time-to-be-seen for patients while also making...
