Apple pie season is here… today’s recipe had me brushing down the crust with heavy whipping cream, something I’d not done before.
First lovely golden brown apple pie of the season with puffy crispy crust! I’d meant to add raspberries but forgot, so I’ll have to make another soon.

Finally got a case for all my Star Wars unlimited cards - now to figure out the perfect way to sort them all (I fear there is no perfect way but maybe some are better than others)

Plenty of “jack in the pulpit” today out in the woods at Hogback Ridge park
Jack in the pulpit- Ohio wildflower with a “pitcher plant” style flower covered with a leaf overhang. It’s about 6-10” tall and accompany by an adjacent stem usually having three leaves. This is by the base of a shag bark hickory, which is usually where I find them.

Out in Castine Maine this weekend for my son’s graduation ceremony from Maine Maritime Academy. Well done! So proud of his commitment, diligence and enthusiasm for his studies and the friends he made at college too.

What did I find (rind?)? @ Char Mar ridge park, Galena Ohio
Tree with a sign in front of it saying "you found it" or maybe "you round it"- the F is not clearly crossed, so ambiguous. The tree base is circled with nice little pointed exposed roots like a birds foot.

Morning walk. A lot of beauty out in the Galena-Sunbury trails that are part of the overall Ohio-Erie paved walking/riding paths
