How about instead of bringing back the Woody, we restore our choice to live on a hospitable planet, with clean air and water for all living beings? The era of greed and selfishness has run its course. Time for vision and equity!
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

Appropriate use of the f-word.
I swear maybe once a decade in public, and this is the moment. This fucking racist and all the gibbering racists nodding along behind him are the ruination of our country. Our fucking job for the next fucking year is to fucking destroy them in the next election. Fuck them.
Trump, continued: "What the Somalian people have done to Minnesota is not even believable. It’s not even believable. And a lot of it starts with the governor. A lot of it starts with Barack HUSSEIN Obama, because that’s when people started coming in... They want to kiss our country good night."

Thank you for calling a spade a spade, Mr. Waldman. And it’s exactly why I’ve had a taste of bile in the back of my throat since election day 2016, but even more since January 20th of this year. The rampant racism fills me with disgust.
For years we thought racist appeals had to have a veneer of deniability so their intended targets could convince themselves they aren't racist. Not anymore.

This is what a nakedly white supremacist administration looks like.

Reposting this for the visual instructions. Remember, you can transfer your playlists using Soundiiz (for very large playlists, pay the $5 for a one-month subscription and cancel right after). Use Qobuz to keep streaming music, and the artists will be paid $.18+ per 1,000 streams vs. Spotify’s $.04

I cancelled my Spotify, and am giving Qobuz a try. Did you know that Qobuz costs less than $2 more per month for a family subscription, and yet they pay their artists on average 3.5-6x more than Spotify does? Qobuz pays 18 cents per thousand streams. Spotify only pays 3-5 cents per thousand.

Hey, @schiff.senate.gov and @padilla.senate.gov , please do whatever you can to keep your Democratic colleagues from caving!
Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Chris Murphy is so courageous. May more of our lawmakers speak with such clarity!
Chris Murphy: "This is a country that's falling apart because Trump is in the middle of an authoritarian takeover. We're not on the verge of an authoritarian takeover. We're in the middle of it ... I have no moral obligation to vote for a budget that literally funds the destruction of our democracy"

Sounds like a great plan!
Would be great to see today statements denouncing the invasion of Portland by:
- All Dem govs
- All Dems AGs
- Senate and House Dems
We have to denounce, attack, challenge immediately and defend the American people from this dangerous man.
Dems need to denounce and fight this Portland insanity very, very hard. Our unacceptable hesitancy when Trump invaded DC encouraged further escalation. We should be demanding Congress return to deal with this "emergency" - briefings, hearings, debate. We have to fight.

Worth reading the whole thread. Paulina Borsook was ahead of her time!
1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that

Perhaps the most insane and incoherent four days I’ve ever seen!
This may have been the most insane and incoherent four days of his presidency. Tylenol, the U.N., I hate my opponents, other countries are going to hell, this escalator's broken, I'm mad at a TV comedian, I like Ukraine now. It really feels as if some minimal tether to reality has snapped.
“I can't believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back. The White House was told by ABC that his Show was cancelled!”
September 24, 2025 at 5:54 AM
Yep.
Let's be clear: no one should be taking medical advice from the man who told Americans to inject bleach.

To moms worried about the Tylenol they took while pregnant: you deserve better than being RFK Jr's scapegoat.

And to the autism community: you are loved exactly as you are.

Taking action is an antidote to the specter of hopelessness. So today, I called my Congressional representatives and urged them to stand firm against a funding deal. Shutting down the government is a form of harm reduction.

Between this and his lies yesterday about Autism, the writing on the wall has never been clearer. Donald Trump has lost what’s left of his mind. This speech can do nothing but ruin what’s left of our good name in the world. What an embarrassment.
Trump to the UN: "I'm really good at this stuff. Your countries are going to hell."

This kind of misinformation at the highest levels is so frustrating, and harmful.

UPDATE: President Trump and his deputies tied autism to acetaminophen use during pregnancy, presented a cancer drug as a possible treatment, and said the FDA would change labeling to reflect both claims. There is little strong scientific evidence for either.
Trump blames Tylenol for autism. Science doesn't back him up
