#EubankBenn undoubtedly dominates this week’s @boxingnewsonline.bsky.social.

For those Welsh boxing hardcores, you can find my report of Willy Gilheaney’s dethroning of national champ Ethan George.

Willy’s comeback story, losing five stone while overcoming inactivity and depression, is fantastic.

My nine-month secondment with @improvementcymru.bsky.social has flown by. The sign of a good time, no doubt. 🫡

Our improvement work for the #LearningDisability community in Wales makes such a valuable difference.

Here’s a short showcase of the programme’s achievements. 📽️

I’m still in awe of the iPhone 16 camera (even if it loses resolution when uploaded to BlueSky).

🌓🤤

The iPhone 16 Pro camera takes some getting used to.

Absolutely ridiculous quality. 😶

The identity theme crosses many areas; nationality, class, sexuality, and more.

These could be so easily sensationalised, but they benefit from really sensitive storytelling.

I loved the way Cymraeg is woven in, too. More normalising bilingualism, pls.

Last night, I genuinely felt lucky to watch #MrBurton at Chapter Arts and then hear from those involved.

It charts Richard Burton’s origins from a Welsh mining community, before his ascent to Hollywood stardom.

In cinemas now, I’d definitely recommend, especially 100 years on from Burton’s birth.

Sunny at 7pm. We love spring.

The only thing I don’t like about this weekend is that it has to end.

What a few days.
March 23, 2025 at 9:27 PM
I know we shouldn’t take TV too seriously, but the underlying themes of connection and community in #Severance and #Mickey17 has been a nice antidote to the toxic news cycle.

We published reports from six new projects who are improving the lives of people with a #LearningDisability in Wales.

They received grants and mentoring, gaining knowledge to create a lasting impact.

This is what @improvementcymru.bsky.social is all about.

Just when you think the #SixNations couldn’t get any worse, we find a new low.

#WALENG wasn’t too bad at halftime. Then the second half was a really hard watch.

I don’t know when this rotten run ends, but it won’t happen until we have a major reset.

One of the biggest privileges of contributing to @boxingnewsonline.bsky.social is giving Welsh prospects their first real coverage in the sport’s premier publication.

I’m usually cautious, but I’m certain the Croft twins will lead the next generation of Welsh boxers.

The latest issue is out now. 👇

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Nothing will top St David’s Day in 2016 when Nandos gave free chicken to anyone called Dewi.

But reporting on the #CrymychKlitschkos Ioan and Garan Croft, the future of Welsh boxing, isn’t a bad way to celebrate.

Report coming in next week’s @boxingnewsonline.bsky.social.

While Derek Chisora bowed out in Manchester, Swansea’s Moses Jolly headlined for the first time in his hometown.

He’s now 10-0 and looking to make his case as one to watch in the next generation of heavyweights.

You can find my report in this week’s @boxingnewsonline.bsky.social magazine.👇

My immensely talented colleague Liz has blogged about how visual illustration can present ideas in inclusive ways:

Sadly, I can't coax Liz to use social media. In fairness, she spends her time being much more productive, creating cool things like this. 🎨⬇️

Mwynhau Mundial.

It celebrates my type of football culture, especially the fun, passionate people who care about communities all around the world.

Times are tight for independent print publications and tomorrow isn’t ever promised. Support them while we still have them. ✊

Out of office on ✅

Somehow it’s five months since I joined Improvement Cymru and the NHS Wales Executive.

I’m always surprised how quickly time goes, but I can’t believe it’s Christmas already.

A big part of that is spending time in the company of good people.

I genuinely can’t wait for 2025. 🙌

Another week, another packed @boxingnewsonline.bsky.social.

My report on Welsh boxing’s nightmare before Christmas is on page 42, including reaction from the headliners.

In 15 years of reporting, I’ve never sat ringside as an event is cancelled.

Visiting old university haunts in Preston, so it was a good excuse to show Deepdale to my wife.

And then there’s Moor Park opposite, where do I used to do my poor impression of Jon Parkin.

Good times.

After a very windy drive down the M4, I’m in Swansea.

Ringside reporting for @boxingnewsonline.bsky.social at the last event on Welsh soil in 2024.

Ethan George defends his Welsh super-middleweight title against Willy Gilheaney in the main event.

The #EmergencyAlertSystem has just sent a message across #SouthWales to warn about this weekend’s severe weather.

The alarm sound was… alarming. 😳

I restarted Duolingo from scratch 50 days ago and I’ve loved it.

Apart from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, what have I learned about myself?

🎮 Gamification works. I thought I compete against myself, but the league tables keep me coming back.

🙌 Friends doing the same language at the same time has boosted my daily dedication.

Content creation, campaign planning, the first Christmas party, packing up to move home… it has been a long week.

As you can see, it has taken a toll on the both of us. Wedi blino. 😴
