as a slow reader i feel somewhat differently haha, but the point about games on average completely eclipsing the required time investment of other mediums rings super true!

i’ve even been struggling recently with the mere concept of a backlog of work in any medium! it feels like a natural outcome of genuine interest in an art form, but the gravity of the backlog just warps so much of my experience that i am starting to feel the desire (or need) to escape it

thank you for writing this! this is my first time encountering your work but this really resonates; i don’t recognize any signs in my behavior of true addiction, but like with so many other things it’s obvious that there’s a pattern of constant consumption that i often fall into
