Putting this here as a calming thing for anyone needing it today. In 2021 I was able to put a song by L. Frank, a two spirit member of the Tongva at the end of an episode where you hear about how they are still here despite people trying to erase them from Los Angeles youtu.be/Qs9UbtzVvn0?...

#MEETTHEBUGS @detective-move.bsky.social is a taco girl in a burrito world. She loves writing wacky stories about mental health, #queerness, and politics, from #kidsanimation to adult comedy. You can find Claire in LA being smothered under her three cats and/or eating a quesadilla.

This is me!
@detective-move.bsky.social: "Help Wanted is about the humiliating rituals of unemployment. I was laid off last year and didn’t have steady work for six months, and even then I count myself lucky. Who’s the real monster here - Gorilla Dave, or the people who hired a chupacabra?"

1 thing that's happening in animation (and across many art industries) is that it is pushing the most marginalized out first.

Low income folks.
Chronically ill folks.
Black folks.
Queer folks.
Immigrants.

These are ppl we need in our industry! We need these perspectives.

it's important for anyone, but especially artists to be very vocal, loud, and proud about their stances on human rights/politics. Our work reaches communities, what we create, share & show makes a difference. Art cannot be separated from humanity. Keep making things that showcase the world you want

When I visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, the guide told us how the bay was dead from overfishing and pollution, and how people revitalized and protected it so it could thrive again, full of kelp, otters, sea lions, whales and so much beauty. I'm holding onto that story hard to get through today.

I've talked to a few folks this morning who were talking about stopping work on their creative projects. Because it's "not important anymore."

I don't know who needs to hear this, but DON'T DO THAT.

We win by living our lives as loudly and truly as we can. That includes your "silly" art project.
