The River Tweed can be full of drama with eerily quiet waters shifting beneath the morning mist as the first rays of light hit the hills.
Enjoy a moment of tranquility on the river. 🌊

“Both current and ripple are dancing in light.” On Tweed River, Sir Walter Scott. ✒️
These words beautifully capture the River Tweed under the moonlight. The river really is stunning whether it’s the sun, the moon or even the rain hitting the water!

The River Tweed is surrounded by stories. Lyne Fort weaves a fascinating tapestry of Roman history. The Romans were not fond of the British weather (or prepared for it 🥶) yet, with a dusting of snow and frost, their legacy in the landscape comes alive! #archaeology #rivertweed

Walter Scott’s reflections on the festive season remind us of the joy it brings, no matter the weather.
"Heap on more wood! — the wind is chill; But let it whistle as it will, We’ll keep our Christmas merry still.'' Christmas in the Olden Time
We hope you have a lovely break! ❄️ #winter #rivertweed

Wishing for a Winter Wonderland 🌨️ We're embracing the chill along the River Tweed (even if there is more rain than snow at the moment!) Winter can be a great time to explore with frost covered trees and icy reflections ❄️ #winterwalks #rivertweed
