GLAAD is an example of a LGBTQ+ organization that changed their view this year and is against the current version of KOSA due to the administration change.

Asked for comment Monday, however, a spokesperson for GLAAD said the organization has changed its view again in light of “changes in FTC and other government leadership.” “When reviewing KOSA, lawmakers must now take recent, harmful and unprecedented actions from the FTC and other federal agencies against LGBTQ people and other historically marginalized groups into consideration,” said Rich Ferraro, GLAAD’s chief communications officer.

This weekend, they were sighted in multiple locations, harassing and kidnapping people in several neighborhoods overlapping my Senate district, including Rogers Park, West Ridge, Edgewater, Uptown, Lincoln Square, Ravenswood, and Lakeview. Just yesterday, as I was out scouting for ICE in West Ridge at a Mexican-owned grocery store, a woman alerted me to a man who was being violently abducted out of his car with the window being smashed and the car left in the middle of a busy intersection just one block away on the far north side of Chicago. They took him and left the car unlocked with all his belongings inside, including keys, a car seat, a stuffed animal, and medications. It has been hard to come to terms with how the very block where my own boyhood apartment building sits was the site of two violent ICE abductions on Friday, including a WGN TV news producer. I was shaken to the core by what happened and went to the exact intersection that afternoon to record this video. Donald Trump has illegally sent ICE federal agents here to Chicago to suppress, kidnap, and strike fear into our communities. This isn't a dystopian nightmare – it's real and it's causing real harm to communities. It's happening in our city, in our neighborhoods, and on our streets. But if we stay in the streets, we will send a strong and irrepressible message that ICE's illegal activities are unwelcome here. When I get elected to Congress, I will introduce legislation to abolish ICE within my first 10 days of taking office. The trauma is real, and I will never forget the hateful violence that Donald Trump has unleashed on the communities at my very core. Mike Simmons was at the August 8th conference with Hoan Huynh. Both are working on it. Huynh has been the most vocal about it and even talked about it before Weiss closed.

The email reads: Last week, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued a public notice stating that Weiss Memorial Hospital will be terminated from the Medicare program effective August 9th. This decision stems from ongoing concerns related to nursing services, the hospital's physical environment, and emergency services- including the recent air conditioning failure that led to the emergency transfer of more than 60 patients to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park. Weiss is one of four designated safety net hospitals in the 13th District, and it is deeply troubling to know that so many of our neighbors may soon be left without access to vital care and Medicare-supported treatment. This closure also puts tremendous strain on the dedicated physicians, nurses, and staff who have served our community and are now also faced with uncertainty, along with their patients. Yesterday afternoon, I met with senior leadership from Weiss Memorial Hospital, the Illinois Department of Public Health, and the Chicago Department of Public Health, as well as representatives from the offices of several federal, state, and city legislators and the Mayor's office, for an emergency meeting to discuss the current state of the hospital and how we can solve this crisis before next week's termination date. We are committed to fight this CMS decision to ensure the vulnerable populations in our communities continue to have access to a nearby hospital and the support and care they require.

I finally completed all gold medal achievements on Antstream Arcade by getting my 250th gold medal in a challenge today. I don't consider myself to be the best at video games, so this was a fun experience to overcome many obstacles and be proud of myself for not giving up.
