It was great to travel on the first passenger Class 730 down the Trent Valley on Monday. The capacity increase is definitely welcome on what I reckon is one of LNR’s busiest routes. Looking forward to more coming onto the route in due course!

It was great to try out the new London Northwestern Railway Class 730/2s today between Euston and Northampton. Nice units, good ride quality. Seats are decent and the ex-first class section is nice, especially with the recline feature. It’s good to see the extra capacity coming onto LNR services!

Just had my first ever journey on an Intercity 225!
Seats were very comfortable, but legroom seemed a bit tight for an intercity train. It’s a nice experience though, and I’m glad I managed to catch one while they’re still in service, even if only to SVG!

Managed to catch the refurbished @crosscountryuk.bsky.social 170101 today!
A great improvement on the previous offering, it certainly seems more fresh. Unfortunately the new screens weren’t working but overall the team have done a great job 👍

It’s great to see the 197s finally in service going to Birmingham. Here’s a few pictures of 197001/010 as they took me from Shrewsbury to International, and back to New Street.
Hopefully this will help bring the Birmingham routes go back to a consistent 4+ carriage service.

A somewhat rare (although relatively common at the moment) 172337 at New St today, ready to form the 10:50 service to Hereford, much prefer a 196 for these runs, but it’s better than a cancellation!

The last ever Avanti West Coast Super Voyager service.
I grew up riding these trains, and it’s a shame to see them go, the Avanti examples are far more pleasant than the XC ones.
All good things must end, and the 80x are a worthy improvement.

Just been detrained outside King’s Norton after a tree damaged OHLE at University.
Well done to the brilliant guard and driver who ensured we were kept informed. Everything was handled brilliantly, and I couldn’t be more grateful for their help during the process!
