One of the unexpected uses of coding agents this week was co-designing an algorithm that dynamically sets the correct iOS materials blur effect on a background based on luminance detection of an image. The algo still needs to go through optimization + testing and validation.

So caught up in Al's productivity promise that I missed its artistic potential. These tools, while positioned for product builders, can also used for creative expression.

Made with Cursor remixed with shaders from aurachat.io.

Swipeable card prototype I made with React. Can't wait to turn these into SwiftUI.

A workflow for designers to collaborate with AI: I call it "counter-sampling".

Here's how it works. You describe what you want in AI tool #1, take the code and bring it into AI tool #2.

Sometimes this is necessary bc tool #1 doesn't completely produce the specs you need.

Created a fun little input field with a typewriter placeholder effect. Made with #react

Recently built this prototype in Xcode.

Could I have done this in #Figma? Sure.
Would it have felt realistic? Probably not as realistic.

Would it have taken longer? Depends on what you're comfortable with.

Using #AI, it could have taken you either 18 prompts or 4 prompts.

Made this app in maybe 45m. Started with a Figma and prompted to get to this using #bolt. Getting to ultra high fidelity this quickly changes the way you #pitch, #build, and ship.

A really simple way to add polish to your app is by simply using #SFsymbols. With #symboleffects, you can create interaction feedback without much added cost. An alternative use of this is to call attention to a feature without the need for onboard guides for something intrusive like drawers. #ios

A really easy way to add delight to the user experience is by using #symbolEffects. Only a few lines of #code gets you simple but effective options.

You also have the added benefit of getting any updates for free by going with native #iOS.

Finally some time to get back to coding. I wanted to try animating custom SF symbols in the tabView to leverage native symbol effects. Found a way to do it which was pretty fun.Think these turned out alright! #swiftUI #animate #design #dev

#vibecode with Claude 🧑‍💻

I got #rive connected with #SwiftUI finally. Took way longer than I expected and at some point no longer understood how to make this work.

Heart animation made with Rive.
The heart can be animated however I want.

Anticipating: (Engineers) "wtf is up with this code?!"

Here's the #Rive setup.

Building on top of my recent explorations creating delightful moments in #iOS, wanted to go beyond using existing packages to make something custom.

Got reacquainted with #Rive and made a simple animation with state management and a trigger.

Got it working in #SwiftUI last night! #design

Got a little crazy at work over this past week, but finally got to finishing up this #prototype in #swiftUI in #xcode.

Used Stream's effects library to make this. There is a light haptic as the #hearts flutter upwards.

What do you think?
