An old black & white photograph of what appears to be an early/mid 20th century English folk ceremony gathering. There are about a dozen people standing together facing the camera, the vast majority wearing what appear to be large papier mache heads, many of which are animals; the human heads are exaggerated & grotesque. One woman/girl is dressed as an early Mickey Mouse (or is it Biffo the Bear?) No idea where I stumbled across this, when and by whom it was taken, or why it's in my camera roll 😁

Maybe it's indicative of the esteem that early Sonic Youth is now universally held in but must admit surprise the new EarthBall made #2 on the quietus AOTY list. It's a really great record from a top band, mind, just didn't foresee that level of acclaim!

Acrylic abstract painting in multi-colours (hues of pinks, reds, yellow, greens, blues, violet). Resembles front view of the upper part of a human head (from below the nose) wearing round, dark-rimmed, yellow sunglasses. Face & hair have patches of vivid colour, they appear weirdly distorted, as though being seen under the influence of psychedelics.
