if leadership incentivised performance improvements, they would get done. it’s hard to prioritise them when you’re in a competitive market, and performance is “good enough” for 90% of your users. of course, performance improvements are made, but they are far from the priority

to my knowledge, not all of their infra is on GCP. they still rely on their on prem infra for certain services, i’m not sure which ones though
