Kindles don't have GPS in them, so I am assuming they will use IP location when they connect to the internet.

I've never used that service so am uncertain how well it works. But if it shows up in a different state you've never been in then you can assume its stolen.

If it's a newer model, Amazon offers a "Find Your Device" feature on the device management page of their website.

Select your device and report it as lost or stolen, and they will send you an email within three days (reportedly) with a map and approximate location.

I have used it for research, but I always ask it to supply sources and links. Even then, I find obvious errors or broken links. LLMs have case uses, but are flawed and overhyped.
