This isn’t my first protest (been doing this since 2016) but I’m 50 and feeling a more angry grandma vibe these days so I’m recruiting knitters to come to our local No Kings Protest this Saturday which also happens to be Worldwide Knit In Public Day.

The Trump regime is harming innocent Americans, targeting reporters and peaceful protesters. Video after video keeps surfacing, widely shared on TikTok and Reddit. These aren’t threats, they’re people walking home, holding signs, clearly marked as press. And still, they’re being targeted.

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

If corporations are persons they ought to be able to go to prison. In practice that would be the board of directors, which is fine with me. Until there’s an high price for this behavior, extracted from the people who actually benefit and who have the power to prevent it, nothing will change.
