The Terrace/Ghuznee intersection in Wellington is pretty close to that, but with the addition of Stop and Give Way signs. Those don't stop drivers going straight across the intersection without looking.

There's an anonymous post on local Facebook pages advertising a "community meeting" about the zone change allowing 15 storey buildings around Western Line train stations. A quick search suggests it's organised by the Character Coalition, just so you know before going along.
