Procedural justice performative gymnastics both. But I'm a huge fan of ranked-choice voting. If engaged people who paid more attention to substance, that might help. Two candidates for Seattle Attorney were my law students. The one who would've made a huge difference didn't survive the primary.

Not my contention at all. I agree with the "gets toxic" and "survives [not recalled]." I'm all for progressivism that accomplishes measurable outcomes that are durable. So I'm not an enemy. I did Act-Up die-ins in the 80's/90's. At least we got AZT. I'm not seeing much progress these days.
