Have you had a chance to look at WinGet Configuration yet? Run `winget configure export --all -o config.winget` for an example configuration file.

Looking through issues (and linked issues), it appears there might be a sequencing requirement. Someone could add the updater as a dependency of the main browser manifest. If installing the updater before the browser works, that would be my suggestion to get the browser and the updater.

I haven't dug into this, but I see the fun you've been having. Is the Brave updater a separate application, or is it somehow getting configured during the "typical" install flow? Is Brave maintaining the manifest when they release or is it the WinGet community?
