When this article first came out I predicted that labor would move to the right to try and appease the voters they had lost to Reform.

This is very concerning and has flown completely under the radar among the many disturbing actions of the Trump administration.

Political is really burying the lede here. Yes Reform is a single point behind Labour but the bigger story is that Labour has lost 13% of its support to parties that are on the left. Conversely, Reform has only picked up 5% of Labour support

Social media is quickly filling the role Hollywood used to play. Creating heroes to aspire to and showing us worlds we can reach if only we try hard enough.
Russia is beating the U.S. on this front- not just in India but most of the Global South.

However, we are at a strange inflection point when the U.S. is losing soft power- Hollywood content is less appealing, and the increasingly anti-immigrant rhetoric from the top echelons of government makes the U.S. a less appealing destination for any aspirational person from the Global South.

The average Indian won't be able to travel to Russia even if it's Visa-free. But they have Instagram and can see a beautiful Russian woman who views Indians as attractive and desirable enough to marry.
