I have FEAR to drawing because I've always thought I just can't do it. So I never try to do it 👻

Well Gnome! is 32 out of 1600 games in overall category. Top 2% 🙏

So happy that the little game we made in a bunch of hours has been so well received. We had a lot of fun making it! 🥰

21 so far days crafting an ECS custom engine! 🔨

Currently have:

💓 Core ECS systems.
⚙️ Transform, Sprite, Animation, Rigidbody components/systems.
📝 Basic Assets Manager & Logger.
🗺️ Loading tilemaps from LDtk format.

So, about the inspector! Using reflection you can find all the classes of an assembly and construct things with them dinamically.

So I have a custom drawer that lets me choose the classes I want, modify their parameters, and the actors are constructed at runtime.

3. Components can subscribe and react to events. Example: the DropItemComponent is waiting for a "Die" event. When he receives it, process it. In this case, creating an actor of the indicated type.

4. Magic! That's all. Components can also fire events and actors can combine components as they want.

Ok so it's a large topic and I would love to write some posts detailing it, but the core is this:

1. You have components. Not the Unity components, I mean a custom class with some code for that component, etc.

2. Components are glued to actors. Actors are just a bunch of components together.

So, a visual example here. You destroy a tree, the tree spawns a zombie. You kill a zombie... it turns back into a tree 🌲

And building that behaviour took me like 15 seconds with the tool (screenshot and explanation on next post 👇)

Advancing with the roguelike proto, now I have a super cool components system to play with!

I.e: create trees that when die drops wood. Or have an enemy turn into a tree when dies. Or trees that drop enemies when hitted 🪄

And all this just from the Unity inspector! (technical nerd info down 🤓⬇️).

I've been playing lots of Caves of Qud lately, so it was impossible to resist the URGE to prototype a little roguelike system this holidays 🫣

It's made on Unity, full MVP so super easy to tweak and add UI, nice visuals or even change the engine. Let's see how far I can reach until next year! 🙌

Hoy me he encontrado estoy de casualidad y no he podido evitar pillarlo 🤓

Es un "juego de mesa" sobre diseñar juegos de mesa. Lo que mola es que trae un montón de componentes en blanco y placeholders, que para prototipar viene geeenial. A ver qué tal cuando lo pruebe 😋
