did some more CRT motion clarity tests
it was quite hard to keep my hand steady and moving at the exact same pace as the test pattern, but in person it is perfectly clear and has zero motion blur. the phosphor trails are also much less prominent.

the Apple IIc’s monitor had a bad component that would cause near-complete horizontal and vertical deflection collapse after a few minutes of being switched on. turning it off for a bit would temporarily resolve the issue. I spent much of my time keeping an eye on the monitor for when it did this.

trying out something with my setup :3
two 17” CRT monitors, with a fucked up magnetised monitor as a portrait display because I can’t get rid of the magnetisation in some parts of the screen.
i did spend about an hour waving some magnets around in front of the screen and managed to make it usable.
