Not sure if I will implement a lot of pirate crew management systems as it might be a bit out of scope considering I only work on the project during my free time, but I'll definitely take a look at Sid Meier's pirates, it looks cool on the screenshot you sent!

I also want the game to have a lots of variation in the biome, kinda one piece vibe. But I'm curious, when you saw the clip what did you think it could be in term of genre ?

Well, I'm not 100% sûre yet, for the idea I have I guess a rogue like would be nice but my last project was also that so maybe I want it to be more of an exploration/Metroidvania game which could be really nice. But in general the main loop will be exploring, fighting boats/creature/bosses.
