Don’t. He had the same opportunity that others had. He chose to handle it in a hateful way. As do so many people today. If they are obsessed with gay people, they are probably gay. No need to be awful about it.

Cohn was a closeted gay man who helped marginalize other gay people. He was a self hating homosexual. He died of AIDS, before there was any hope. If you look up the AIDS crisis in America in the 80’s, you will see many examples. It was terrible.

At least Cohn died a painful death

Trump plays the long game. He's always been a complete asshole, which enables everyone to shrug and say "assholes gonna asshole" and move on to something else.
