It was a great day to go see adders in the North Pennines. We also saw slow worms, common 🦎, many raptors, rabbits, lapwings and the famous grouse! #spring #vipers #ukwildlife

Yours truly has contributed to the description of 9 #newspecies of #reptiles this year. 6 from northeast #India, 2 from the Western #Ghats & 1 from #Myanmar. All this work was possible through multiple small grants, which allowed us to document #biodiversity in these #Hotspots for the past decade 🦎🐍

I was photographing fiddler crabs (Uca annulipes?) on the mudflats around #Bako National Park in #Borneo, and to my surprise, I saw a few #lizards running around. Turns out they were coastal #skinks Emoia atrocostata. That's the first time I saw skinks on the mudflats!
