The thing that sucks is that for me, its not even intended snarky comments that get to me. Many even POSITIVE comments get to me because I assume they are snark (oft due to bad self-image). This caused a downward spiral; bad self-image, tries to improve, misinterprets helpful comments, resigned 🔁.
I hate how my family did this shit. I (seemingly/undiagnosed) have executive dysfunction or something. And any time I would do anything to help around the house without being asked, I was met with snarky comments. And wow did I never want to help again. Probably why I STILL struggle to do shit today
I think about this a lot.
