Here she is in the Bayonne shipyard in 2017. She was there over a year. If I recall correctly she had a bent shaft then they found out the other shaft was bent after they replaced the first one.

I steered this 1,000’ ship into Savannah a couple times. Never got ashore after doing the should I go ashore or go to sleep math. Looked nice from the channel especially the older part of the city. Lots of people waving to us which is always nice.

I worked on a car carrier and imagine my delight when we picked up a Sherman in Zeebrugge Belgium. We brought it to Brunswick, Georgia and it was eventually delivered to a collector but I can’t remember its final destination.

I’m not a movie knower but I’m a bit of a comics knower and I just watched Spielberg’s War of the Worlds for maybe the fourth time and realized the whole cellar and surrounding scenes looked like a 50s EC comic

Being unemployed and broke I can’t afford a streaming sports package to watch hockey but I found out I have the NHRA channel for free. It makes me very happy to see these vintage drag races. These are from Pomona, CA where I was born.

My favorite way to annoy my late wife was when we’d watch movies or tv shows and people would be firing guns or have a gunfight in a small enclosed space and I’d say they’re deaf now. They all have tinnitus now.

Christmas in Louisiana on the Shughart. My wife sent me a Merchant Marine hoodie. I wore this hoodie in a local grocery store. The cashier asked me what’s the difference between the merchant marine and the regular marines. I said the US marines kill people on purpose and we kill them on accident
