I know people aren't paying attention to this, but the tariff case in front of the US Supreme Court will not help Canada. If Trump loses, and it seems so far that he will, Canada will end up possibly the highest tariffed nation in the world.

I hate to do this, but who was right about it being the few remaining sane federal Conservatives that might be the ones to save the budget? Yeah, me.

The LPC gained a crossover MP from ... the CPC. Nova Scotia MP Chris d'Entremont, a PC at heart, has left Poilievre's CPC for Carney's Libs.

Whenever a neverTrumper or centrist liberal says the left must shift to centre, remind them that Mamdani won. Don't let them rebuild the Democrats as traditional Republicans - or the Liberals as PCs - to "win". The left will vote with the same enthusiasm as the right if offered representation.

Trump is claiming PM Carney "apologized for what they did" over Premier Ford's Reagan ad, adding that it's a "false commercial" and that "Reagan loved tariffs. Naturally, the PM's office has no response, which allows the insinuation that Carney agreed it was a false ad and apologized to stand.

While others continue to focus on Trump's tantrum of the week - Are we not used to this by now? He doesn't want a trade deal with Canada. - my fears revolve around the budget vote. The CPC just want to topple the LPC and the Bloc are doing Bloc things.

It all seemingly comes down to the NDP.

My worst fear has come true - we could be on the verge of another federal election in Canada.

Both the Conservatives and the Bloc have said they will not support the Liberal budget. Unless the Liberals can win over the NDP, the budget will fail, triggering a no confidence vote.

Who did we elect in Canada? The Liberal government has confirmed that immigration processing wait times of 9 to 50 years are "not a mistake", but in keeping with a promise to Canadians to bring immigration in line with "available space".

I hope that seeing so many people come out for No Kings across the US will encourage corporate media, and other cowards, to rethink caving to the Trump regime.

The support is there for resistance. Maybe today might energize the establishment Dems to fight harder too!

I'm incredibly disappointed in my government. We could remove the tariffs on Chinese EVs and end that trade war, but instead we are focused on a "trade and security" relationship with the US, a country that now refuses to follow established trade norms or honour agreements.

We set a heat record today - 30°C/86°F. That's 13°C/55°F above normal for October on the Canadian east coast. This smashed a 100-year-old record of 26°C/78°F, and came after a summer of unprecedented heat and fires.

But the Trump regime, and our Canadian MAGA allies, say climate change is a lie.

Most Canadians are progressive and not religious, and the majority have post-secondary educations, yet nearly 50% of us are now backing a Christian nationalist political party that supports Israel and parrots Trump regime policy in identical, low-vocabulary speaking style.

Again, I feel lost.

I fear Carney will agree to the Golden Dome and the full F-35 purchase. In return, he'll be publicly mocked, and new tariffs will appear. The Trump regime wants the Liberals gone and the CPC in charge. They want Canada on the same dark path, as vassals, or absorbed into the US.

Average Canadians believe the lies because they are angry and want vengeance on scapegoats. To appease the CPC, who threaten them with defunding, CBC has chosen to present political news with a 50/50 approach. This results in hateful ideas and MAGA-Americanized views being given equal value.

The US Ambassador also lies and, like with the CPC, his lies go unchecked by the media. He and former CPC politicians are invited to speak on news shows presenting "both sides". There is no "both sides", just reports of what the Liberals do, followed by criticism from these guests.

PM Carney has travelled the world looking for new trade options for our industries, but CUSMA is up for review and Trump keeps piling on increasing tariffs. The official opposition is Canadian MAGA, and they keep spreading lies while blaming the PM for Trump's actions.

I feel lost.

The Canadian PM is travelling to Washington to meet with Trump in hopes of improving their relationship. Canadian military tech - the L3Harris WESCAM - is confirmed to have been used in the Venezuelan boat bombings. The Canadian government response is that they are "aware".

I can't go a day without someone ranting at me about immigrants. I can't go shopping without a store employee asking to check my bags. I can't go online without a conservative politician or influencer issuing dire warnings about everything.

Whatever has gone wrong in the US is spreading north.

There are white supremacist active clubs in every major Canadian city. My city almost certainly also has a very busy arsonist. Marches for sexual assault awareness and other innocuous causes are being met with violent protest and aggressive actions.
September 28, 2025 at 7:50 PM
Multiple shootings in the US. Again.

I could say gun violence is out of control in America, but I'm sitting here in my small Canadian city where police shot and killed a gunman yesterday who attempted a robbery, then entered an occupied house, set said house on fire, and then set a car on fire.

2/2 The importing of US right-wing policy needs to stop. Trump and his "values of the English-speaking world" cannot be allowed to gain traction here in Canada. We shouldn't follow Britain's lead; we are not a US vassal state.

Even maga now knows the US has fallen into fascism. Don't import it.
September 20, 2025 at 10:03 AM
1/2 And while all that is happening, Canada is following the US further down the Israel bootlicker path. Kneecap is banned and has to cancel shows. Our new UN rep says Canada "needs to study" if there is a genocide in Gaza. WTF?
September 20, 2025 at 10:02 AM
2/2 I think, combined with the large number of fires over the last year, we may have an arsonist. I don't want to jump immediately to that, but there have been non-stop fires in the downtown core, multiple fires in wooded areas, and now two tire storage fires in a week. It doesn't sit right.
September 20, 2025 at 9:59 AM
1/2 OK, something is wrong in my city. The second tire fire in a week is ongoing, this time at a tire shop. I can smell burning rubber at home kms away. Multiple businesses share the same lot, there are houses in the neighbourhood, and the animal shelter is close by.
September 20, 2025 at 9:58 AM
So this week, so far, we have Russia moving deeper into Europe, Israel doing what it does, multiple governments worldwide in crisis, ICE creating an international row with South Korea, and now the US regime, with its Department of War, has a far-right martyr to use as justification for action.
September 10, 2025 at 9:33 PM
Charlie Kirk is dead.

If the Minnesota state lawmakers shooting didn't prove the US has descended into politically-motivated violence, this did. I fear what this assassination - and that's what it was; I watched the kill shot video from multiple angles - will cause in America.
