On something one of my kids submitted, an LLM flagged a passage simply stating that Charlie K was not alive as a factual error.

My oldest was walking down the streets of Madrid during his study abroad and saw a guy in a Michigan hoodie!

Not necessarily my fave, but we need to bring back Johnny Wholestaff. I told my 20yo that's who was pitching for the Reds yesterday, and he didn't get it. Clearly, I've failed as a parent.

Also, I'd like Littell better if the Padres can pull off a miracle and win the division, because Littell's less risky in a park that plays bigger.

I will admit I'm definitely underrating 25 Moll, because I haven't been impressed. Haven't had eyes on lately, so maybe he's looked more like 23 Moll, who I loved. And, admittedly, it'd be nice to have an option in addition to Ashcraft and his reverse-ish splits against lefty batters.

There is no way I'd leave Singer off the post-season roster. Over the past two weeks, he's been more effective than Lodolo or Abbott, though I do love the way Dolo in particular has owned the Dodgers. Littell has been shaky, but he might be OK for a shorter relief stint.

They might need to buy them tickets, but, hey, those are going for $8 for this series, so if they need to pass the hat, I'll chip in. 😂

Your list actually sounds pretty good. I'd be inclined to replace one of them with a pitcher, in case the bullpen has to eat innings. I haven't followed the Bats so I can't really comment intelligently as to which hitter I'd leave off. Leaning toward Hinds, though.

As I understand it, the taxi squad applies only to road trips. But I'd definitely be loading up five players for the flight to Milwaukee. One of them has to be a catcher, so Banfield is a lock, and that's probably not a bad idea anyway in case Stephenson's injury becomes unmanageable.

That's a good point, and there's another downside, too, which would be the impact on bullpen depth. But, particularly in those long stretches without off days, a designated sixth man might make more sense than a bullpen game.

I think it's time to seriously consider a six-man rotation, if for no other reason than it might cut down on what we've seen from Abbott his past few starts. It also would protect Lowder and Burns from the same thing. Of course, that assumes everyone is healthy, and everyone never is.

He's always struck me as more Rick Astley-like.

Which makes the way he ended all the sadder. He was great without PED.

It was amazing for everyone - players, parents, coaches. The one thing that made me sad: How overly grateful his parents were that he was accepted. I mean, I'm sure they'd learned the hard way that it's not always the case, but you shouldn't have to be thrilled your kid's being treated with dignity.

I'm really glad nobody told the autistic kid on my youngest son's Little League team almost a decade ago that he wasn't supposed to be playing. BOTH dugouts cheered when this kid got a hit - it was an amazing experience for him and his teammates.

Exactly. People don't realize that the pitching quality in AAA means hitting success doesn't always scale. Remember that 1st baseman last year - name escapes me, but the big guy who has a Princeton grad? Amazing 3A stats, horrible in Cincy.

It's the same folks who still think of Hinds as that one hot week and not the hot mess of the rest of the season, except they ignored his record in AAA.

I believe the farmers in the Central Valley already want to turn it off.

If only someone had warned him about what happened to "look-alikes" after 9.11 - including some who didn't even look at all alike.

Additionally, there's the privilege of geographic proximity. He never had this treatment when he was younger because the nearest doctor who did it was a 5-hour round trip away. It wasn't until he left for college that he was within reasonable driving distance of a provider.
