Female Blackcap and Chiffchaff in the apple tree this evening. Migrant birds in the garden today: 7 Chiffchaffs, 6 Blackcaps and 3 Goldcrests, also several Robins

After 30 days away I was surprised by the number of moths in the garden, 141 of 22 species, unusual for this time of year. The best were 2 White-speck, a Scarce Bordered Straw, Radford’s Flame Shoulder and Dark Sword-grass. Some migrant birds about as well inc. Goldcrests, Chiffchaffs and Blackcaps

We’re at the Portalet pass between Spain and France. Yesterday we came across a Lammergeyer breeding site on the side of the mountain opposite. Today we took a hiking trail for 2 km up the mountain for a closer look. Hopefully some photos later
