This what we’re up against. Our essential natural world (and us who wish to defend it) portrayed as traitors and blockers.

Oh MHCLG you’ve got this so wrong.

I’ll say it again NATURE IS NOT THE REASON FOR THE HOUSING CRISIS - fix what’s really wrong and stop blaming wildlife for your failures.

We have been campaigning hard, rallying our members, lobbying, press articles, e-actions, but agree it’s not visible enough.

Meeting one of my heroes this weekend was a huge privilege. @carolinelucas.bsky.social has always spoke truth to power, standing up for what’s right and inspiring others, including me, to try to do the same - within whatever sphere of influence we have.

Just seen the latest work from the Doughnut Economic Lab highlighting the huge inequalities between the richest and poorest nations and the accelerating planetary metacrisis we are in.

Proud to have hosted the Welsh Government, Natural Resources Wales and Welsh Wildlife Trust today, to showcase our pioneering NBS work which is cutting pollution into the Solent, rewilding large areas for nature, compensating for coastal habitat loss, creating jobs. Nature really can be a solution.

I love this quote. I’m working on our new strategy at the moment and taking inspiration from bold, uncompromising voices. We have to turn things around before it’s too late. #naturecrisis #naturerecovery #rewilding

Yesterday’s amendments to the Planning and Infrastructure Bill are a small step in the right direction but there are fundamental flaws at its heart, which still amount to environmental regression and #CashToTrash

When excellent MPs stand up for what’s right and then get suspended by their party we should be very worried. Chris Hinchliff has been a staunch defender of nature and is far closer to the public view than the prime minster. Such arrogance 😡. Great quote here from Craig Bennett, agree 💯 .

I’m no longer on X - any chance you can post your views on here too James? I’m sure you’ll have many allies. @herdyshepherd.bsky.social

There’s a very good reason why “growth” seems to be eluding most mature economies including ours. The economy depends on natural capital and ours is severely depleted.

A significant win for nature!

If bats and newts really were that important then they wouldn’t be declining and endangered!

This is a false narrative. Nature is NOT the reason for a sluggish economy. Say it again and again.
February 23, 2025 at 4:34 PM
Here are the real risks to our economy. Nothing here about newts and bats blocking growth. Quite the opposite. The top 4 risks to the economy stem from having a damaged natural environment. If we don’t restore and regenerate nature we can kiss goodbye to a prosperous future.

👀 Nature is amazing 🤩 Starling murmuration at HIWWT Fishlake Meadows. Thirty years ago this was an arable farm, the land drained as it’s a floodplain. But after abandonment it reverted to nature and is now a rich wildlife habitat and important nature reserve in the heart of Romsey 💚

🍁 The autumn colours have been spectacular this season and clearly got our grazing ponies at Hook Common and Bartley Heath Nature Reserve feeling the autumnal vibes.

🍂 Rosie can be seen here expertly modelling locally sourced headwear!

💁 Could she be a trend setter?

On this dark day in global politics, I look to nature to help me focus on the good in the world. We need to stand together to build a nature-positive, equitable society. We cannot change what’s happened but we are in control of our own actions, our response and what we do in our lives.
