finished for now. i love how making clothes in 3D art feels like making them in real life, cutting fabric, laying it out. #blender3d is such a gift
might come back later and improve the texture, i sketched it super quick. and who knows how it will look in engine, but happy so far :)

basically i'm baking a texture that represents the distance between the hair card mesh and the body mesh, and using that to blend between the hair color and the skin color, to get a nice soft fade. to bake it, we use the "geometry proximity" geo node on a subdivided proxy #blender3d
