Cisgender lesbian. Quilter, cross stitcher, baker, weirdo. One time guest on The Dork Forest.
Went to an estate sale that had so many UFOs, couldn’t count how many: flimsy, loose blocks, cut & sorted in bags, unopened subscription boxes. It was a stark reminder that we only have so much time and to non crafers it looks like garbage- some of the family wanted to trash her whole collection.

Thanks- the lady had so many UFOs, couldn’t count how many, flimsy, loose blocks, cut and sorted in bags, unopened monthly subscription boxes. It was a stark reminder that we only have so much time and to non quilters it looks like garbage- some family members wanted to trash her whole collection.

It was a struggle to decide if the stripes should go parallel or perpendicular- honestly that’s why it took two weeks to get the top done.

Hopefully you find your people. I am in a small group where we range from our 30’s to 60’s.

Same here except every few months it decides to overwhelm me with weddings and babies neither of which I am interested in.

I love your fabric choices and that pattern (made it once already)

That’s where I started (I was working there at the time) and always point new quilters in that direction. I have gone on to purchase a few of my favorites but saved so much money on books I used once or never used at all.

I got an email from my local shop today saying that they were going to expand certain sections like patterns and fabrics for dress making. It might be worth asking your local shops if they had considered carrying embroidery thread. I’m sure you aren’t alone.

It’s about community. You are inspiring people whom you most likely will never meet. All your efforts are welcome here
