Of course, pretend tough guy and murderous Pete Hegseth throws Admiral Bradley under the bus rather than take accountability. It won’t work.

Sooooooo this is another interesting wrinkle that I don't think any other media org has pulled on yet

TEA can be and often is delegated, but it also can be kept at a very high level...and if pete did indeed keep it with him without being delegated at least for the first strike, hoo boy

Hegseth is very transparently blaming a Navy admiral for his own decision. Let this be a lesson for every other military officer: The Trump administration will issue unlawful orders, then blame you for following them.

But this won’t hold water.

If Trump and Hegseth claim Bradley is at fault and exceeded his orders, why was Hegseth crowing about the strikes publicly and why hasn’t he removed Bradley?

The strike happened in September and witnesses claim the video made the double tap horrifyingly clear.
WAPO: “.. Officials in Congress and the Pentagon said Monday they are increasingly concerned that the Trump administration intends to scapegoat the military officer who directed U.S. forces to kill two survivors of a targeted strike ..”

"Taking his information diet and public behavior seriously, Vance’s Russia sympathies appear deeper. Trump’s authoritarianism is personalist, centered around a cult of personality, focused on attention, power and money for himself. Vance appears to be a genuine far-right ideologue."
JD Vance pushed the recent Russia-friendly "peace" plan, effectively trying to get Ukraine to surrender.

It didn't work.

But it's hardly the first time. Why does he keep trying to help Russia win? Because he's a far right ideologue who sees Putin as a culture war champion.

Opinion | Why JD Vance keeps trying to help Russia win the war with Ukraine
The vice president pushed a Russia-friendly peace plan — which tracks with his far-right worldview that sees Putin as an “anti-woke” culture war ally, says Nicholas Grossman.

If immigration judges are neutral and independent as due process requires, then they must be independent from the Executive Branch.

We must move immigration judges from Article II to Article I to provide a check on a lawless administration like this one.

This is a big deal: Jack Goldsmith, former head of OLC, says that if WaPo's report is right, Pete Hegseth's order might have been an illegal one.

WaPo reports that the commander overseeing the strikes gave a rationale but Goldsmith says it doesn't hold up:

For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.
