I get about 2-3 emails a day sent through my contact form that are clearly AI generated. 1) I don't want to talk to random strangers about my book/writing/publishing/
2) If you are a book club, go buy the book or get it at a library. I'm not paying you and I'm not giving out 30-50 books.

I fully believe that the felon will try to have the files scrubbed, or they will claim a majority of the files can't be released due to active investigations. That said, it also feels like the floodgates are being breached, so who the eff knows what's next?

If the lawsuit is certified, I'm looking at a substantial payout for which I am extremely grateful. The point of this thread? File your copyrights. You never know when you're gonna need it. 4/4

Or... you could find yourself included in a class action lawsuit that requires a copyright certificate to claim damages. Yes, this pertains to the Anthropic lawsuit. Did I have anything at all to do with the lawsuit? No. Am I in the class because I filed copyright on almost all of my books? Yes. 3/4

You might be asking yourself if you ever see yourself suing someone over copyright claims. In the US, this is a valid question as it costs a lot of time and money to file a lawsuit. You might not think it's worth the $55 to file with the US copyright office. You could be right. 2/4
