Today's classic SF art - the 1970s cover of Frank Herbert's Children of Dune painted by the English artist - Bruce Pennington. Sure, it bears very, very little resemblance to anything taking place in the book. But it doesn't matter. If I'm exploring space this is the kind of place I want to visit!

I'm growing increasingly suspicious of the manufacturers of two-in-one flavoured vapes. 🤔 Regardless of whichever you buy one tastes incredible whilst the other seems like it was drawn from the sump of a pickup truck whose last oil change was 50,000 miles ago. 🤢

Isaac Asimov was a superb writer of sci-fi short stories. Nightfall & his I, Robot series left a lasting impression on me as a child. But I never much cared for his novels. Especially Foundation. Even as a kid I found "Psychohistory" fishy & the constant bait-&-switch endings increasingly wearisome

The first thing you should think when hearing the word UFO is DoD. They use UFOs for all kinds of purposes - from counter-intel to red-team testing at nuclear facilities. You have to go back to WWII when people discovered radar was very good at detecting right angles. A disc shape is very stealthy.

I miss the classic eras of SF cover art. You really did see some beautiful & evocative imagery. For many it was the reason you bought the book! Today's publishers don't want genre art. They prefer covers which don't trigger prejudices (more $). This is for the P.K. Dick novel "Ubik" by Chris Moore

The Dems problem if they win the next presidency are the countless Trump apparatchiks sown across all branches of government after they fired the folk they didn't like. Either they dig them out like weeds (more chaos & confusion) or they risk keeping fundamentally untrustworthy people on 🤔
