I just have to sit back and enjoy these as a event. Hopfeully not too long a wait for the two to collaborate again. Two great books for sure.

Of the two I think I preffered the DC published one and Grant Morrison wrote a hell of a short story to mark their return to comics in a BIG way, but the Marvel issue was still sone great stuff.

That of course sold it to me very well. Not nearly as wild as the box would suggest but still a fantastic pulpy time. Once saw it on film at the Duke of Yorks in Brighton as a midnight screening, crowd went wild. One of my favourite theatre experiences. It also has an incredible synth score.

Diverted from the main Toho Studio entries to watch the western re edit of the first 2 films "Shogun Assassin". A classic of the video rental era and one I always loved the cover for on the video shop shelves, claimed to be banned "In over 30 countries" and to have "Extreme Content"

Not that I dont enjoy the fan service stuff in Deadpool & Wolverine (especially the comic accurate suit) and the overall popcorn nature of it but that is very much a MCU product and a shallow film. Logan is put together against conventianal comic book tropes and film cliches.

This film is an improvment in every way over its source comic. Controversial take of mine is that Old Man Logan is a mean spirited awful comic book and I think Logan deals with its idea in a more mature and thematically rich way. Jackman ideally should have left it here. A perfect bow out

Also on the Superman front ive been re visiting Smallville as its been some years since i last watched it. Some good stuff but it has some real lows too. Still got the nostalgic love for it with this re watch however. Rosenbaum is such a good Lex
