Regardless of your specific feelings about the war in Gaza, if you’re asking Ms. Rachael if she’s funded by Hamas, you’ve taken a wrong turn somewhere in life.

US median household income is ~$78k and the median savings rate is about 4%. So if you put *all* your savings into you HSA (no retirement, etc) that’s ~$3k per year. That likely covers a year with no illness, but you’ll exhaust that *very* quickly if you get sick.

There’s a lot going on here, but is Trump saying Communism has been tested for over 1000 years?

“Nepo-baby” is an interesting choice when his opponent is the son of a former governor.

For all the talk of Mamdani being a “communist” Trump is just out there seizing the means of production

My favorite thing about opinion polling is that no matter how crazy the question you’ll still get 8% of people responding “not sure”.

I don’t think people fully appreciate how little we spend on food aid and how easy it would be to prevent people from starving to death. This is purely a policy choice.

In 2024 China bought more than 1/2 of the soybeans exported by the US, so the idea that they were supposed to be buying a lot more is just ridiculous

Putting politics aside, these numbers are just really small to draw major substantive conclusions. There are more than 20k murders in the US annually and 20-30 are being classified as political.

It’s a stiff competition, but this might be the most economically illiterate statement I’ve ever heard.

Of course the evidence of the success of COVID vaccines is not secret. There are hundreds of published studies (here is one: pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...). They all say the same thing: the vaccines reduced the risk of death by 90% and effectively ended the pandemic. (1 of 2)

Sure the Trump admin lies constantly, but you do have to marvel at how poorly the Biden admin communicated their policies and successes. How many voters have any idea what the Bipartisan Infrastructure Act is or what it does?

Again, Mexico is not paying a 25% Fentanyl tariff, American importers are paying at 25% Fentanyl tariff. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Normally I’d question whether this was a good use of the president’s time, but I’d say this is the best use of *this president’s* time.

She is seriously misrepresenting the bill, but it’s also worth noting that these are all bad policies on the merits. We shouldn’t have differential treatment on income like this and eliminating tax on social security will only benefit the wealthy.

Don’t take my word for it: Tom Tillis and Elon Musk clearly feel like the politics of renewables have changed
